Receipt Management (Receipt Capture / Bill Uploads)

Would a secure/HIPAA compliant folder for income be too much to ask for? Eg expenses are one side, but say a chiropractor needs to send over a transaction report or insurance checks for income, needs to be secure and don't want it to upload to QBO. However some OCR to find the file later would be really nice.

We would be interested in seeing how this works

Would love if clients could manage the receipts on their end as well. I have clients who I supply the Hubdoc subscription for and they use it to manage receipts enter transactions themselves

Ben Stein - One thing I will add that DOKKA does amazingly and no other software out there can do that I have found (Dext, Hubdoc, etc) is to attach all the documents from one email together or split them as needed. We wanted to use them but they don't work with small business clients.
Example: Email comes in from manufacturer. It has attached a bill, a report in .csv format, some extra shipping/customs documents that aren't bills but should be attached. I want to push all of that together to one bill in Xero (including the email in case there is important info in the email).
If all of that could be one document when it comes in, and be able to be split (in case they actually uploaded 3 bills or something), that would be STUPENDOUS!
Note: we are using Xero for accounting

It would be great if this implementation was done as both a mobile app for capture, web site for upload & review, and email forwarding as well like Dext. How is this coming along? Do we have an estimated release date?

I would love this as well. Since I deal with the construction industry, it would also be important to match receipts and bills to customers/projects.

I played around with DOKKA for a bit - they have some cool AI stuff going for them, makes it super simple to find a document, but I'm used to storing everything in Google Drive. I think it's Veryfi that can backup to Drive (saves a step) but what would be amazing is if you could change the filename. So a receipt is added to Keeper, OCR recognizes the date, dollar amount, vendor. Then on top of adding to QBO, the image file is added to a specified folder in Drive with the filename [date] [vendor] [amount]. I waste so much time renaming and sorting receipts!!

Jennifer Dial: Thank you for adding this!! I would love to see the receipt read the date, vendor and amount then save into a specific folder in the Box, Google drive, Dropbox…. I just filled out the form about how much time I spending coding transactions for the AI beta and I would say that half the time (or more) is spent saving and sorting documents into the client’s drive.

Jennifer Dial: I love Dokka AI ! Maybe Keeper could partner with them instead of reinventing the amazing software that Eric Edelstein and crew have developed.

Yes! that way we can email to Dext or whatever other document storage firms might use

Ben i was trying to hold out for Keeper but I had to break down and start using Dext. I love it. But I believe in Keeper so much and want it to become THE app for everything. I am particularly impressed with the Dext interface being so convenient to use with my clients. They don’t have to attach to an email. Descriptions are easy to add and overall super simple and more likely that my clients will get me receipts now. Just a few things about my experience so you master this addition to Keeper! I wish Dext would integrate with Box - my preferred cloud storage. It does not scan the receipts/bills/invoices, you have to take a pic and all the unprofessional background comes with it. It is super nice that it scans the QBO for items that are already entered like QBO receipts does - that is an absolute must! But can you also get it to scan the bank feed??? I know bank fees feature is on its way! Another improvement you will be able to have over Dext is that once you publish from Dext to QBO, it is hard to make changes if you forgot something. You basically have to get it right the first time or you you have to go through several steps between both softwares to correct it. Just by virtue of Keeper, that will not be a problem. I also love that Dext integrates with Bill.com and you can choose which software to post to. It is nice that you can set up rules in Dext and accept multiple items in an easy quick format. One of the best things they have is the ability to upload multiple receipts at one time and Dext will separate them all. One of my clients (800 transactions per month) loves this feature because they can take all the receipts at the end of the week use their scanner and upload all at once instead of doing one receipt at a time.
